Slow Breeze Machine

Tord Boontje + Wonseok Jung

Sometimes all you need is a gentle breeze to feel comfortable, to fall asleep. Sometimes a fan is too noisy and the air conditioning too strong. Sometimes you just need a little movement of the air.

Tord Boontje is known for his expression of romanticism in contemporary design. Originally from the Netherlands, Boontje’s education at the Eindhoven Design Academy and the Royal College of Art in London set the foundations for Studio Tord Boontje. Established in 1996, the studio’s early projects were already in the area of mass production as well as experimental one-off pieces. The studio has since worked with international companies on a range of products that includes lighting, graphic identity, textiles, ceramics, site-specific installations, and furniture. Work can be found in major museum collections such as the Victoria and Albert Museum and MoMA in New York.
