Loud Objects are a collection of home accessories including candle-holders, serving plates and vases that also function as Bluetooth speakers. The marble and wood components resonate to become speakers when the objects are connected to a Bluetooth device such a phone. Usually consumer electronics are sleek and we decorate around them in our homes but the design of Loud Objects takes a different perspective. Here, consumer electronics and home accessories are integrated.

Having completed a Masters in Design Products at the Royal College of Art, Bilge Nur Saltik founded Studio Bilge Nur Saltik in 2013. Her approach to design merges culture in a contemporary way, focusing on the story behind objects, with a particular interest in human behaviour. Nur utilses the knowledge of traditional craftsmen by introducing their techniques to new materials, combining the old with the new. Nur won ‘New Design Britain Accessories Award’ and ‘New Design Britain Online Choice Award’ in 2014 with her Share.Food collection. She is one of the co-founders of the Form & Seek collective, and has exhibited (solo and together with the collective) at different design fairs across the world.
