This vivid wall-light was inspired by Wood’s visit to Mexico such as floral displays, the Aztec-meets-Deco architecture of the Palacio de Belles Artes, chilli-sugar treats, triple-relief Baroque decorative details and the colourful treasures filling Mexican markets. She worked with Pietro Viero, a Pyrex master in Italy, and Nouvel Studio, a Mexican glass specialist, to make work that criss-crosses the boundaries of local and global design, acting as a conduit for creative communication.
